Borderlands 4 Fun Facts: Five Things You Might Not Know

Borderlands 4 Fun Facts: Five Things You Might Not Know

Borderlands 4 is coming this Friday, and it's shaping up to be the boldest entry in the series yet. Whether you're a longtime fan or new to the chaos, there's plenty to get excited about. Here are five fun facts about the game that you might not know.

#1 It takes place on a brand-new planet: Kairos.

Say goodbye to Pandora: Borderlands 4 unfolds on Kairos, a dystopian world ruled by the tyrannical Timekeeper - the game’s main antagonist.

#2 No more loading screens

Borderlands 4 is designed with zero loading screens between areas, making the entire world feel connected and immersive. You can walk, ride, or fight your way across the planet without interruption unlike ealier Borderlands games.

#3 Skip the campaign - Jump right into the endgame

Once the main story is done, you can create a new character who starts at level 30, allowing you to dive directly into high-intensity endgame content like weekly challenges and boss missions.

#4 Brand new HUD (there’s no mini-map anymore)

Borderlands 4 ditches the old-school mini-map and replaces it with a sleek compass bar across the top of your screen. It keeps you focused on the action and not staring at a corner of the HUD. You’ll still get waypoints and other info, but in a cleaner, more immersive way. There's later been added an optional "combat radar" that you can turn on/off based on your preferences, but it's not the classic mini-map that we know.

#5 A more serious Borderlands

While the series is known for its over-the-top humor, Borderlands 4 brings a more focused and emotional tone to the story. There’s still chaos and comedy but with a deeper narrative and a darker villain, it’s the most story-driven Borderlands yet.
