5 things you might not know about Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater!

Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater returns August 28, bringing the legendary 2004 classic back to life in Unreal Engine 5. Experience its iconic Cold War story and jungle stealth action like never before, with next-gen visuals, modern controls, and new surprises for both veterans and newcomers.

#1 From PS2 to Next Gen

Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater is a complete remake of the 2004 PS2 classic Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. The story, characters, and iconic jungle missions remain, but everything has been rebuilt from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5 (and this time it launches on Xbox and PC as well!).

#2 The First New Mainline Metal Gear Game Since 2018

Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater marks the franchise’s long-awaited return, being the first major new title in the series since Metal Gear Survive launched back in 2018.

#3 Original Voice Recordings Preserved

The remake uses the original voice recordings from Snake Eater, so the characters sound exactly as you remember them!

#4 Multiplayer Arrives After Launch

The new online mode “Fox Hunt,” inspired by the classic Metal Gear Online, won’t be available at launch on August 28, 2025. Instead, it’s set to arrive later in fall 2025, giving players something extra to look forward to after release.

#5 Console-exclusive Minigames

On PS5, players can enjoy the nostalgic crossover minigame “Snake vs. Monkey” from the original release. Xbox Series X/S players get a unique spin instead – a brand-new “Snake vs. Bomberman” mode.
